Seashell: Harper Shell

By Xah Lee. Date:

This is a Harper shell (Harpa Articularis). It is relatively large, measures 7 cm, light weight. Looks can be deceiving. It actually has a very very thin and delicate shell, and it is light weight. It was bought on ebay.com, around 2002. Notable is the sharp ridges radiating from the apex, and its wavy water-color-like serrated pattern.
